Hi there, and welcome to Simply Mindy. Since it’s spring I thought it would be appropriate for my first post to be about my linen/hall closet update. I don’t know about you, but a decluttered organized space makes me happy!
Plus, a little spring cleaning never hurt anyone. This relatively simple project was very inexpensive and did not take much time. So, let’s get started.
Goals for the closet:
1. Maximize space
2. Declutter
3. Address lighting
Step one: clear everything out and get rid of unused items (i.e. Old sheets/towels and expired meds). Forgot to take a pic before adding shelves.
Step two: add shelving. I used scrap wood from recent home renovations.
Tools used: Saw, Leveler, Stud finder, Drill, Hammer, Wire shelf screw kit, Tape measure
Step three: use storage baskets/bags to organize. I chose to use labels to ensure everything will stay in its place.
Here is the result.
Before/After
This entire project took a total of about 3 hours collectively over the course of a week (working mostly during nap times), and only cost $12. And, by the way, I was left with extra space. Bonus!
Please leave me a comment, if you liked this post! Next week, I will show you my front entry makeover. Thanks, and God Bless!
