I’m working on putting together a gallery wall in my entryway and I want to add a couple of décor pieces that aren’t square or rectangular shapes. I came across these wood stems at Dollar Tree and knew right away that I would use them to create this decorative heart.

Dollar Tree has really stepped up their game recently with items you can use for diy crafts. You’ll find everything from stencils and brushes to paint and canvas. I fell in love with these wood stems when I saw them in the store!
To create this diy wall décor piece I used:
2 packs of wood stems (Dollar Tree)
piece of cardboard
glue gun
scissors and or craft knife
I started by laying out all the wood stem pieces on the cardboard until I was satisfied with the heart shape. I traced around the shape then carefully move the cardboard from under the stems and cut it out.
2. Once I had the cardboard heart cutout, I placed the wood stems back on top before gluing each individual stem. I added glue to the bottom of each stem as well as to the side of any stems that directly touched.
I just love the rustic look of these wood stems! They fit right in with my neutral/ rustic home décor. These would be great in a glass vase or in a bowl on a coffee table!
To finish of this wall décor piece I created a hanger using a piece of jute rope which I secured with hot glue and pieces of popsicle sticks.
I’m still working on putting up the galley wall, but I’ll be sure to share once it’s all done! I’d love to know if you have a gallery wall in your home, and if so what’s on it?
