It's hard to believe the first quarter of the year is already gone! But, I'm excited about the warm weather finally arriving because that means getting to spend more time outdoors. One thing I love about the outdoors if seeing flowers bloom and the trees turn green again. And while I love natural flowers, there is a place for faux flowers. It took me a while to figure out what to make for this challenge. I've used faux flowers for wreaths, centerpieces, arrangements, etc. But, I wanted to try something new. So, I made a fun sign for the door of my daughters' bedroom!
Here is what I used for my floral door sign:
12x16 inch canvas panel
1 bunch of faux queen ann's lace from Dollar Tree
vinyl stencil (made with my Cricut)
scissors
pencil
hot glue
1. I created a stencil in order to trace the letters onto the canvas. If you don't have a
Cricut, you can create a stencil using my silhouette canvas tutorial.
2. After removing the stencil, I arranged the flower pieces (I removed each bud from the bunch and cut it into smaller pieces) onto the traced letters and glued them into place using hot glue.
3. To hang the sign on the door I glued a piece of ribbon onto the back of the canvas. And on the front I added detailing to opposite corners of the sign using the leaves from the floral bunch and faux pearl stickers I had on hand.
The girls we're all too happy to see this floral door sign go up! Probably because they thought it literally meant that their brother wasn't allowed in the room. Lol
