This project was inspired by the Weston frame by Pottery barn. I could never bring myself to spend $24 on a frame, but when I saw these table plaques at Dollar Tree I knew they would be perfect for this diy!

I'd been trying to come up with some wall décor to add to the wall at the bottom on the staircase leading up to the second story. The wall has an odd shape because it was opened up but we weren't able to bring the opening all the way to the stair base (you'll see in the pictures), and I wanted to create visual separation.
This is the pottery barn Weston frame:

Here is what I used:
- 3 decorative table plaques from Dollar Tree
- 3 book rings
- wall decals
- acetone nail polish remover
- heavy duty glue
- spray paint (optional)
1. I started by removing the sayings on each of the plaques using the acetone. The sayings are printed on the back of the plaque. To my surprise this removed the sayings very cleanly. After the acetone, I used window cleaner to remove the residue.
2. This step is completely optional. I wanted to match my home décor, so I spray painted the plaques and the book rings in a metallic bronze finish. I simply covered the glass with newspaper and painter's tape. Any paint that got under the tape, I removed using a craft knife.
*Tip: when spray painting small objects, place on parchment paper to avoid sticking.
3. After the paint was completely dry, I glued the book rings onto the plaque using gorilla glue contact adhesive. I used sticky notes to create a gap for placement on the wall hook.
4. I allowed the glue to dry overnight, then I applied the decals.
To hang these I used clear command hooks. I'm loving how this turned out! And it definitely creates a separation on this wall.
Pin for later!
